Nine Queens Final – Lifestyle shoot and 1080s

On the second last day, we had the honor to get our private make-up and hairstylists. It was so much fun and everybody looked so glamorous. All the Queens, dressed in their Dirndls and styled like models, drove to a very old castle ruin and did the group shoot together. After, the Queens and photographers were separated in groups and tried their best in being crazy creative. Check out the pics and for more: http://ninequeens.com/.
The next day was competition day. I had bad luck and crashed in the training, lost my orientation and got a really bad concussion. Well, watching from the side for me, this day. The Queens killed it with Kaya Turski and Maria Bagge throwing their first 1080s. In the End, Maria Bagge one the Comp and Kaya Turski was voted to the all over ruler.
It was the most amazing week with an even more crazy party on Friday. It was definitely the best event, I’ve ever been invited to and I can’t wait to hit the castle next year again. The pictures and the film material turned out beautiful and we’ll all see a great output. With the Nine Queens Invitational 2011, a high standard in the world of women’s freeskiing was set and will show how strong also the Queens can be.

Cheers,

Caja

Another amazing day at the castle....with a heli shoot!

It's just getting better and better every day, I don't even know which session was the best so far. It's such a pleasure to hit this jump every time again. This time, we had a heli session till the sundown and it was just EPIC. I can't wait to see the pics and the filmshots from the heli. I'm pretty sure they turn out just amazing and will be spread around the world to give everybody an idea about the progression in women freeskiing, which is happening right now here at Nine Queens in Serfaus(-;

Le chateau is so much fun!

What an awesome first day!!! After a long breakfast yesterday, we went up pretty late, to catch the nice afternoon and sundown light. Since I didn’t do the jump yet, it was time for me to finally hit the castle. And it felt awesome. Thanks to some nice pills, I was able to ski, without feeling my toe a lot. I had such a great day with the Queens, playing around the castle. I’m stoked about the atmosphere and I’m so happy to be here. Check out the epic pics by Andi Wittmann to get an first impression about the action going on up there.

What a welcome night!

After we checked out "le chateau", we were invited to an amazing welcome night. All the Queens dressed up in their Dirndls and had an amazing traditional Austrian dinner at a small hut up the mountain. Great people, great food, great atmosphere! Ready for more action today(-;

Nine Queens 2011... it's on!!!

After a few days of bad weather, today we woke up and just on time, it was bluebird and just perfect. So after a long and late breakfast,  the Nine Queens first got all there beautiful Dirndls for all the ceremonial occasions that are coming up this week and after we went up to check out the jump.
Aaaand, it's not just a jump, it's a huge beauty of a jump. To be honest, it's the most beautiful jump, I've ever seen. Can't wait to hit it the next days and produce some amazing photos and footage! I'm so stoked to be here with all those really good girls! It's gonna be an unforgetable week of riding, having fun and partying!

Getting my broken toe ready for Nine Queens at the bootperformance.com!

Hey all,

it's now over a week ago, I broke my toe at the Euro Open in Laax and I'm doing everything to make him ready for Nine Queens. So I drove to the Bootperformance Store in Garmisch to get some personal fitted insoles, which should make my toe feel way better in my skiboots. I'm stoked on that and pretty sure i'll help me a lot!!!

Thanks to Stephan and Seppi from Bootperformance!!(-;

See you all at Nine Queens,

Caja

European Open in Laax 2011 a sunny 4th place and a broken toe.

After coming home from India, I became really sick and couldn’t eat proper for one week. I still went to Austria to do the Austrian Open where I ended up in 6th place and missed the finals by one place. My stomach was even worse after and I had to rest at home to get some power back for the European Freeski Open in Laax, Switzerland.
Surprisingly the Euro Open Slopestyle Training started with bluebird and sun and even more surprisingly, the weather stayed like this the whole week. I had a pretty good first training day and felt good. The next day, something really sad happened, my friend, Lena Stoffel, blew her knee. I was shocked and had to quit training. Once again it showed me, that it is just a matter of time who is next. I’m really sorry for Lena but also really proud how strong she dealt with it. Lena, I’m confident, you’ll be back stronger than ever.
The Semis and Finals took place the next day and I really had to focus after I missed one whole training day. Again, the weather was really nice and I had fun skiing the course. After Semis, I qualified 4th for the Finals and also ended up being 4th all over with my first run. I crashed my second run and broke my toe on the last jump coming little short after a big spread eagle. Well, I’m stoked about the 4th place and well, it’s just a toe.
